Through over a decade of experience in software development and engineering - from my beginnings as an analyst at a large medical software company, to more recent roles leading teams of engineers as VP of Engineering and CTO - there is a strong narrative of determination and ownership that underlines my career. At each turn, meeting the needs of the business while delighting customers has been my primary concern.

Engineering Culture Transformation - Between the support tickets and maintenance requests, we led a truly transformative culture shift away from an antiquated “Who’s fault is this?” engineering mindset in which we could honestly analyze the practices and processes that influenced how we worked. In panels with business-stakeholders, we gained company buy-in to begin a change-of-course towards a more collaborative and accountable future.

World-Class Infrastructure Design - From our beginnings running applications on Heroku (who doesn’t miss these days?), we knew the roadmap would require a more nuanced approach to how our customers interacted with our infrastructure, as well as how how we managed our software. I built a team that designed and implemented a world class infrastructure environment that supported countless happy customers, a development team that grew by the hundreds, and ultimately paved the way to a $550 million acquisition.

From Legacy to Legendary - After years of refining their approach of how to best serve their target market, and countless contractors contributing to a legacy and outdated technology stack, it was clear that the existing product would not enable the future needs of the business. After a ground-up rewrite, including upgrades on front-end, back-end, data, and systems-level infrastructure technologies, the company is well equipped to deliver on a product roadmap that meets customers needs, as well as attract talented team members as they grow.
